SpaceMan Spliph (B.Johnson)
Born in DC at Washington Hospital Center, Mr.Johnson grew up in Montgomery & Prince Georges MD. Influenced by HipHop as young child & introduced to it by his older Brother, Mr.Johnson immediately grasped onto the music & made it a priority to recite the songs he heard till he had them memorized. From the culture, to the beats, breakdancing & emceeing, he was mesmerized by how it made him feel & the impact the amazing music had on others. A few notable MC's that he admired for their rhyme dexterity, message & presence were KRS-ONE(BDP), Rakim, Kool G Rap, Public Enemy, EPMD, Redman & especially A Tribe Called Quest* Upon hearing A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory" album for the 1st time, Mr.Johnson believed at that moment that it was the BEST album ever CREATED & then he himself started writing rhymes.
As Mr.Johnson reached Highschool he was lucky enough to meet other dope emcees that too were very much influenced by the amazing Hiphop music at the time (& wanted to add their own contributions). Their bond based off a love for HipHop would prove to be a lifelong passion & created a true brotherhood that never faded.
Mr.Johnson has recorded many "underground hits" with his HipHop affiliates the C.O.C. (Champs over Challengers) & the ReMainz Crew. His 2 man collaborations with W.Raymond(New Jeruse) lead to the creation of the group ILLFreQuent (a subsidiary of the C.O.C) & they have been churning out music together ever since. The duo won several Rap competitions in Washington DC & has performed at many local venues in the nation's capital.
SpaceMan Spliph regards himself as a very lyrical emcee, metaphor heavy, with a wide range of vocal tones. His style is realistic to his own lifestyle and he rather deliver music of substance rather than whatever is "HOT" at the moment. He believes good soul touching music is TIMELESS & anything else is a waste>
